• Mera Peak Climbing

We contracted Annapurna Foothills Treks and Expedition to guide 5 of us to Mera Peak in March/April 2014.Some of us had completed the Everest Base Camp Trek a few years earlier with a larger trekking company and were now lured back to revisit the beauty and grandeur of the Himalayas.Annapurna Foothills Treks and Expedition is a small local company operated by husband and wife team, Ngima and Tenzing, and were chosen for some key reasons:1.Being a local company we were mindful of the trek fees staying with locals they need the support and depend on us for their livelihood.2.The trekking costs were competitive with other companies doing a similar trek3.The numbers in the group were going to be limited to 10 or less in the end there were 5.4.Reviews I read about Ngima and his company were favourableFrom my first contact with Ngima via email I found him to be very professional, enthusiastic and helpful. (Dont be put off by delays in a reply as being a small operation he is very much hands on. His advice and recommendations as to the length of our trek, equipment required, coordination of accommodation in Nepal, internal flights and a myriad of other small items was hard to fault. Our walking guides on the trek ended up being his wife and Chongba - both Sherpas with Chongba having summited Everest the previous year.To say they were experienced is a gross understatement with their level of knowledge and expertise obvious to us constantly.Whilst we were having trouble keeping our feet on the slopes in the snow and ice they were there, sure footed with strong guiding hands.Whilst we had concerns about some of our altitude gains on some days they assured us we should be alright and we were non of us got altitude sickness whilst other groups around us did. We might have been lucky or it might have been good management. The actual trek to Mera is far harder than the base camp trek with the path less formed, steeper, more undulating and obviously to a higher altitude (1000 metres higher than base camp). We also ascended and remained at a higher altitude longer all considerations to keep in mind.In the end nobody from our group summited but having made this comment nobody had summited in the previous 3 weeks and nobody summited in the week after (prior to us leaving Kathmandu). Conditions conspired against us.4 or us made it to high camp with one of our group leaving on day 2 with a pre existing medical issue.Overall Ngima and his team were excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending him(them) for any trekking in Nepal. Should I plan another trek in this region there is no question that I would contact Ngima..................................................................................................................Jeremy McGrade | DirectorE [email protected] (Western Australia) Pty LtdLevel 1, 130 Hay Street, Subiaco, WA 6008T 1300 901 047 | D +61 8 9488 4870 | F 1300 547 350

  • Ghorepani Poonhill Ghandruk Trekking

Having spent two months volunteering in Kathmandu, I was keen to explore the beautiful mountain scenery for a few days before my flight home. A friend recommended Ngima for this, and I am so grateful to her for this advice. I only had about a week for the trek, so Ngima suggested a shortened version of the Annapurna Circuit which was perfect for my time period. The programme allowed enough time to trek as well as to relax at the hostels and frequent lemon tea breaks! Trekking alone would have certainly been less of a joy without the company of Ngima and his thorough knowledge of the best places to stay and eat, gained through many years of trekking in the area. The trek was the perfect ending to a wonderful stay in Nepal and if given the opportunity I would readily return and complete a longer trek. [email protected]

  • Annapurna Panorama Trekking

Namaste Ngima and Tenzin:I am on my way back to the States after 3 weeks in your beautiful country. The highlight of my trip was the 6 days I spent trekking with your company. I fulfilled a lifelong dream of trekking in Nepal and it was much better than I anticipated. The terraced hills of the foothills and the views of the mountains will forever be with me.I am so grateful for the the care I received from you during my stay. You took care of every detail, from picking me up from the airport, to booking hotels and airline tickets to Pokhara before and after the trek. Everything went smoothly from start to finish.Tenzin was an excellent guide during the trek. She and the porters and assistant guide took care of every need. Tenzin was so professional and supportive when I had difficulty during the trek. I also enjoyed learning and playing "Three Card" the first night of the trek!I highly recommend your company to anyone who wants to trek. I am happy to be a reference and can be reached via Email:  [email protected]

  • Gandruk PoonHill Gorepani Trekking

We are extremely thankful to Ngima and the team at Annapurna Foothills Treks Expeditition for making our trip to Nepal so fantastic and memorable! We did a four day Gandruk-Poon Hill-Gorepani trek and one day of sightseeing in Kathmandu. We did a lot of research into different tour companies before our trek, however, we were the most impressed with Annapurna Foothills. They were prepared to tailor the itinerary to meet our time frames, budget and interests. We also wanted to go with a Nepal based tour company. Our entire trip was taken care of - right from picking us up and dropping us off to Kathmandu airport! During the trek, Ngima gave us interesting insights into Nepali history, culture and nature. He was also very patient with us - especially during the ascent to Ulleri! On the last day, when I hurt my foot, he was very caring and made sure I was feeling ok. The food and accommodation during the trek was also fantastic. Our sherpa and Ngima always made sure we were well fed!The trek itself was amazing. We really enjoyed passing through the villages and meeting the locals. The early morning trek to Poon Hill was definitely worth it - we saw the sunrise over the Annapurna mountains. We also got a good mix of seeing mountains, forests and villages.I would highly recomend Annapurna Foothills to anyone considereing a trek/expedition in Nepal. Whether you're a beginer or experienced hiker - you will get so much from Annapurna Foothills.Supraja [email protected]

  • Chulu West Peak Climbing

NamasteFirst of all, thank you again for everything you and your team did to made our  trip to chulu west went well. Here is my review for our trip.It was the end of 2012 when I first made contact with Annapurna foothills. At that time I asked many questions regarding the package trip to Chulu West and Ngima response from Annapurna foothills was very help full and gave us confidence. We love how Ngima explain everything including the tiniest matter for the trip. During our trip from Kathmandu until Pokhara (including trekking and climbing) was a blast. Citra (trekking guide), Gelu (climbing guide), Dorjee, Mongol and Kancha (porters) working together efficiently and very friendly. Not to mention they all answers to many of our questions during the trip. We hope on our next trip to Nepal, we can meet and do the expedition together again. You have a great and friendly team Ngima.Best Regards from IndonesiaSuzanna Zas and KoesharjantoOur trip: Chulu West, September-October 2013Regards,Suzanna ZasSulawesi 39 Pontada Soroako 92984Sulawesi Selatan IndonesiaHp: 081342197730

  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking ( ABC Trek)

I am almost 59 and have never been in Nepal before this trip although I was planning to go there for a long time. I have chosen Annapurna Base Camp trek as a one I could still make it; not too long and not too technically or physically challenging. I have found Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition on Internet and gave it a try. From the pickup in Kathmandu airport to the ride to the airport 3 weeks later I have experienced one of the best vacations in my life; mostly, thanks to a very good service I have received from the staff of Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition. There has never been any problem with transportation, any hotel or tea houses reservations including both MBC and ABC. I have seen many trekkers forced to either go to the next village or sleep on the floor as the October is the high season in the Annapurna region. The guide was very informative, full of humor, and I have received a lot of help with my daily needs from him. In my case, the mother nature has cooperated, and when needed the most - Poon Hill and MBC and ABC - it showed me the beauty of Himalayas. I could not ask for more.I definitely recommend this company and Ngima Nuru Sherpa specifically for trekking and mountaineering adventures in Nepal. If my health allow me to do it again on a different trek in Nepal I will arrange my trip trough them.

  • Everest Three High Passes Trekking

I have just returned after almost three weeks of trekking in the Everest region with Ngima Sherpa and his Everest Foothills Ltd Company. Having seen many other groups and guides, I can confidently say that Ngima is by far the most considerate and capable guide that we encountered anywhere in Nepal and that we were extremely lucky to have him and his company! From the time he met us in Kathmandu to the time he saw us off, we felt that we had not just a guide, but a friend who generously and conscientiously looked after our group. Little things matter - for example, in each place we stayed, Ngima had excellent personal knowledge of the various lodges, and ensured that we stayed at the best ones available. He has an excellent and diverse knowledge of Nepalese and Tibetan history, culture, and environment - all of which he shares with an infectious and genuine smile. He gets along well with not just us but also various lodge keepers and merchants in the mountains. We enjoyed meeting and trekking with him. In fact, I am already daydreaming about planning another trip with his company. I have heard nightmare stories of others for whom a guide was more of a buden than a help. As such, I, and the rest of my group, feel doubly and triply fortunate to have encountered Everest Foothills. I especially note this to those who are planning on booking with a western company - honestly, for trekking (including the more serious "trekking peak" trek-climbing) , there is little to no benefit to booking with a western company. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend Annapurna Foothills for your Annapurna or Everest region trek!

  • Everest Base Camp Trekking 2012

"Four weeks trekking in the Everest-region are impressing beyond words. And not the quality of your equipment or preparation guarantees for a successful and pleasent trip but an experienced and trustworthy Nepalese guide does:In this regard Ngima Sherpa and his Annapurna Foothill Trekking team are the perfect choice! The organization of our tour was most professional and done with a lot of experience and sensitivity for our needs. There was never a moment when it felt like anyone was just doing his job, a situation you can witness more often than you like along the way. Even in more extreme situations we always felt absolutely safe and sound. But the most important benefits for the tour are Ngimas vast communicative skills and his deep love for his country that he shares with his guests in all its varieties during hours of conversations about geography, botany, buddhism, traditions and ancient customs or the modern political or enviromental situation or any other topic. So each step can be an impulse for a new story, a teaching or a discovery, small or big. While never-tiring of our uncountable questions he really builds an intellectual bridge between Nepal and Europe. In short words: When you arrive in Nepal, you meet a wonderful and caring host and when you leave, you leave a good friend!Namaste and THANK YOU, Ngima!"Thank you once again for the impressing trip in November, I hope to see you soon in Germany or a little bit later again in Nepal,Robert GummlichEngelbertstrasse 4150674 Köln+ 49 172 2569414 mobil+ 49 221 67770510 bürohttp://[email protected]@gmx.de
