• Excellent service to Base Camp of Mt. Everest !!

Annapurna Foothills Treks were professional, thoughtful, and caring from the time we arrived until we flew home. The communication was excellent from Ngima Nuru Sherpa the managing director. He quickly responded to our questions. Their advice through them and the website both was not over exaggerated, and was very useful. I can't say enough about our guide Dowa. He offered the perfect amount of care and concern, with still allowing us freedom. We did not feel smothered or babysat, yet our needs were met. Dowa had a great wealth of knowledge about the mountains, history, and culture to share. I would definetly recomend this company and Dawa as a guide.

  • Mera Peak - Amphu Laptsa - Island Peak

My second trip with Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition was absolutely amazing! For planning and organizing Ngima Sherpa and his team are simply excellent. Even if you have quite trivial small questions they will reply and help you as fast as possible. You can always get more information if you need to. The climbing was done very professionally by a highly experienced Sherpa and wonderfully nice and reliable porters! Also: i recommend Makalu Barun NP (Mera Peak) very VERY much ;) and i added many pictures from that region

  • Gokyo Cho La Pass and Island Peak

I did the above mentioned trip in December 2016. The trip was perfectly planned and everything went smoothly. The itinerary allowed for perfect acclimatisation, especially having two nights at Island Peak Base Camp. Tashi, the trekking guide for the trip picked me up at the airport and helped me through my first days in Kathmandu before we flew to Lukla. In Lukla we met the highly experienced climbing guide Mingmar. So I was lucky and travelled with two guides right from the beginning. Both guides were really knowledgeable and we had lots of great conversations. While crossing the glacier at Cho La Pass and during the climb on Island Peak I felt perfectly safe and in really good hands. For my next time in Nepal I will definitely go with Annapurna Foothills again. Best wishes from Germany, Lukas

  • Annapurna circuit and Chulu West Climb

A friend and I worked with Annapurna Foothills Treks to be guided trekking on the Annapurna circuit from Besi Sahr over the Thorong La pass to Jomsom, with a guided climb of Chulu West on the way. Our trekking guide Dawa was outstanding all the way to Pisang, and provided us with a lot of local cultural information and some great times. In Pasang we said goodbye to Dawa and met up with our climbing Sherpa Dendi who continued on with us the rest of the way. Dendi was a fabulous trekking companion, an amazing climber, and an all around great guy. We also had the good fortune to have his son Geru as one of our porters, and he was equally enjoyable. The accommodations that Annapurna Foothills provided with us with in Kathmandu, all of the trekking lodges on the trail, and in Pokhara were all great, as were all of the logistics of getting gear where it needed to go. The managing director Ngima was always very prompt and professional in responding to questions we had in arranging this trip. I highly recommend this company for Annapurna trekking!

  • We will definitely use Annapurna Foothills Treks again!

Our 14 day Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp trek, guided by Tashi was an outstanding experience. We enjoyed his local knowledge while making the trip a joy. From the trip's booking to departure from Nepal, all aspects of the trip were carefully organized and well executed-something we appreciated very much.

  • Annapurna Circuit and Chulu West 21-day Adventure!

I highly recommend Annapurna Foothills Treks and Expedition. We just stumbled across them on the internet and wondered if we made the right choice, but it was all obvious the minute we arrived in Kathmandu - they took care of everything from the beginning to end. This makes the trip really easy, hassle-free, and avoids issues you might have on your own negotiating where to stay, what to pay, etc. With Annapurna Foothills you can focus on the trekking and climbing adventure. The climb up Chulu West was tough, and we nearly summited except for the deep snow up high. We were turned around at 20K feet, which was just fine because it was higher than I had ever climbed. I'd go back and do this again, without hesitation, and hire the same group. Their Sherpas are top-notch, especially the climbing Sherpas. They know the ropes, so to speak, and look out for your safety. They understand how to manage clients with consideration for everything: weather, climbing goals, personal capability, and so on. Just put your trust in them and you'll be happy you did.

  • Nepal Family Fun Tour (2 weeks)

My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to Nepal one week before the earthquake happened. Over a year later we decided to try again and AFTE honoured our deposit from the previous year. Ngima was always prompt with responding to our emails throughout the whole planning process. We were excited and felt prepared for our adventure.Overall, we were very well taken care of throughout the whole trip and we always knew what to expect in regards to guides, hotels and the schedule. Ngima, Tashi, and all our guides were so wonderful, friendly, informative and helpful, which pretty much describes all Nepalese people that we met. The peace that you feel in this country is truly a reflection of its people. All the transfers ran smoothly, and we had excellent drivers who had to navigate through crazy traffic and rough mountain road conditions, we were very thankful for the private car! The accommodations throughout the whole trip were excellent and breakfast was always included which was a bonus. We stayed at the Hotel Shakti in Kathmandu which was clean, safe and convenient. In Chitwan we stayed at the beautiful Safari Adventure Lodge and pretty much had the place to ourselves, we loved the pool and the cozy private lodges. Finally in Pokhara we were treated to a suite at the Landmark Hotel which was very much appreciated after our 5 day trek! Our trekking guide Chitra tried to ensure we got the best room possible at the mountain lodges along the way, though be prepared they are mountain lodges so some are better than others - but definitely bring some flip flops for the shared showers! What we enjoyed about the itinerary was the balance of city life, nature, adventure and relaxation. We loved learning about the history of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, though it was also very sad to see all the destruction from the earthquake. Then we headed out to the Chitwan and the jungle which was so beautiful and relaxing, the highlight being the elephant safari. Riding on the back of an elephant searching for rhinos in the jungle was a once in a lifetime experience! After Chitwan, we traveled to the more quiet (compared to Kathmandu) city of Pokhara which was the base camp for our trek. Our 5 day trek through the Annapurnas on the Ghorepani-Ghandruk loop was hard work but so rewarding. We were lucky, despite visiting near the end of monsoon season the rain only came in the evening. When we trekked up to Poon Hill, the skies cleared and we saw Annapurna II in all her glory. We had a day to recover in Pokhara before heading back to Kathmandu, and we splurged on paragliding, which is a must if you have nice weather. I flew through the air with eagles flying around my head, it was incredible. On our last day in Kathmandu we did all our souvenir shopping. Finally, our favourite part of traveling is always the food, and Nepal did not disappoint. We ate sooo many delicious momos (Himalayan dumplings stuffed with buffalo, chicken or vegetables), and daal bhaat tarkari (a platter filled with variations of rice, lentils, curried vegetables and spiced meat). Curries and fried rice were also consistently yummy and be sure to have Tibetan bread for breakfast - a lightly fried, sweet pastry dipped in honey. While there isn't a big variety of food in certain parts, especially in the mountains, the food was always fresh and generous. But we definitely appreciated the steak dinner we had upon returning to Pokhara after the trek! That said, because we were also on malaria and altitude sickness meds for most of the trip, we had mild stomach issues, so bring lots of Imodium and try to avoid dairy, spice and alcohol. We highly recommend Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition and our two week itinerary, and we would love to return back to Nepal one day.

  • Annapurna Panorama View

Everything about this trip was brilliant from start to finish. I can't thanks Ngima and Tenzing (his wife who was my guide!) enough for an amazing experience. A family run business means you get really personalised planning and care. Lovely lovely people..
